Counting Down to the EU Referendum

Fresh Relevance has launched a new type of SmartBlock for Animated Countdown Timers and to show how it works they have created countdown to the EU referendum.

The CEO of Fresh Relevance, Mike Austin, comments that: “Countdown Timers are a well proven tool for creating a sense of urgency, anticipation and alertness in the mind of the customer. Since launching our first generation timers we have seen widespread adoption. Our new improved version delivers a great advance on anything currently on the market and we look forward to seeing the new uses that marketers invent for them.”

Animated Countdown Timers can be fully utilised cross-channel, so they can be placed anywhere on a website (and in multiple locations), as well as within marketing emails (including automated cart and browse abandonment messages) to ensure the visitor/recipient always knows exactly how long they have to act.

Austin adds: “What is more, like all of the features in our SmartBlock range, Animated Countdown Timers also have the option for personalisation, and the ability to work in real-time to change the content of Countdown Timer in emails that have already been sent, all without the need for special editing knowledge.”

Chief PR at the EEMA High Level Fireside - The Cyberwar Debate

Yesterday evening the Chief PR team had the pleasure of joining EEMA for its first high-level fireside briefing of 2016. Hosted by Atos at its offices in London these events are a must attend for anyone wanting to keep pace with the developments in IT security, e-identity and authentication.

The topic being addressed in this fireside was Cyberwar and we were treated to a lively debate chaired by Jon Shamah of EEMA and the Technical Director, Identity at
CESG, Dr Peter Armstrong, and the Chief Executive of the Information Assurance Advisory Council and a Visiting Fellow at King’s College London, Nigel Jones.

As well as the debate, EEMA events always provide excellent opportunities to network with peers in the industry, whether they are policy-makers, vendors, analysts, members of the media or academics.

We would like to say a big thank you to EEMA for yet another thought provoking and entertaining evening and we look forward to the next one.

Here are a few photos we took during the evening...

Cyber war - High Level Fireside Briefing

Next Tuesday evening the Chief PR team is looking forward to the first EEMA High Level Fireside Briefing of 2016. The topic for the two-hour debate will be Cyber Warfare – the softer targets – public, private & civilian casualties.

Kicking off with a drinks reception at 6pm and finishing at 8.30pm this event hosted by ATOS in London is highly topical, given George Osborne's pledge in November to increase spending on cyber security to £1.9 billion by 2020 and the announcement of the US government  last week to increase federal cyber-security spending by $5bn, in the hope of reaching $19bn in 2017.

This debate will explore and explain the hidden Internet  (otherwise known as the Dark Web, Deep Webm or Deepnet) that you cannot find using search engines and how the occupants can dramatically affect our everyday lives and economy.

Last year these High Level Fireside Briefing's were amongst the very best events we had the pleasure of attending. Not only are they informative, but also provide fantastic networking opportunities with people at the very top of the game.

If you are interested in coming along on Tuesday 23rd February you can register at: www.eema.org

Preparing for Paris - ISSE 2016

Last week the Chief PR team travelled to Pembury to start planning for ISSE 2016 with Revolution Events. If you do not know about ISSE where have you been?

Information Security Solutions Europe (ISSE) is one of the must attend events in the European IT security calendar. Call us biased, but we would argue that it is also the best. We can think of no other conference where you can rub shoulders and share a coffee with some of the brightest and influential minds in the world of security and e-identity.

Last November, Chief PR had the pleasure of running the press office in Berlin and now, just months later, we are all planning how to make the 2016 conference and exhibition bigger and better than ever.

ISSE 2016 will take place on 15th and 16th November and we are excited that it will be returning to Paris for its 17th year. This year the focus will be on the following areas of interest...

  • Trust Services, eID and Cloud Security
  • BYOD and Mobile Security
  • Cybersecurity, Cybercrime, Critical Infrastructures
  • CISO Inside, Management of Privacy and Data Protection
  • Biometric Applications
  • Regulation & Policies

So, if you are an expert, or know of the ideal person to host a session then watch this space and we will let you know as soon as the Call For Papers is released.
